Landscape analysis was a course that highlighted the local specialities of a geographical area with the respect to biodiversity and rural development. From the analysis a vision for future development of a specific area was designed.

Surrounded by the North Atlantic ocean, Seltjarnarnes is fortunate to have a great wildlife variety and beautiful nature at it’s doorstep. Seltjarnarnes has been rapidly expanding in order to respond to demand of housing. But when the town hits it’s limits how can we preserver wildlife?
Can urban areas and nature co-exist?

The Barrier is a design that creates an attractive and exciting outdoor area for people while protecting the natural environment from disturbance. The curvy wall serves as a walking path, educational area, bird watching and a tourist attraction for wildlife and the northern lights.
By making the buffer between nature and urban area the main attraction for Seltjarnes it can become a powerful tool in order to keep the affects of men at bay.
